A graphic study in film. Crafted exclusively in velvet-rich noir tones. Film Noir prints come strictly in black and white and have been created in a mix of illustration and typography. They are designed to work singly but also to hang well together as an eclectic mix.

Hitched

Alfred Hitchcock hails from Leytonstone, East London. Sneak along the underpass next to the tube and there are wall murals celebrating their local boy done good. We lost him to Hollywood along the way, where he became one of the most lauded directors of all time. This piece features Hitchcock’s distinctive silhouette created in a mix of typography and illustration.

These prints came out of a short animation sequence I made for a thing back in a past life. Here’s the film:

Apocalypse Cow

We must kill them. We must incinerate them. Pig after pig. Cow after cow. Village after village.’
Colonel Walter E. Kurtz

The insanity of war, as expressed by flying bovine.

Mad World

A silhouette of Frank the sinister costumed rabbit’s face, created from the haunting lyrics of Tears For Fears’ Mad World, famously covered by Gary Jules for Richard Kelly’s 2001 film Donnie Darko.

All Work And No Play

My homage to Stanley Kubrick’s classic 1980 horror film The Shining, based on Stephen King’s Book. Featuring a hand-crafted typographic axe made from the immortal line ‘All Work And No Play Makes Jack A Dull Boy’ repeated over and over.
